Thousands of devotees gathered at Wat Maha Wanaram in Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand, to pay respects to the holy relics of Lord Buddha and his two disciples. The solemn ceremony, which took place on March 9, was attended by dignitaries and venerable monks and also included a vibrant procession featuring the sacred relics.
The Indian embassy in Thailand shared the event on social media, expressing gratitude for the continuous support of Thailand Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin and his government during the exposition.
The sacred relics, previously displayed in Chiang Mai, arrived in Ubon Ratchathani on March 8, Saturday and will be enshrined at Wat Maha Wanaram until March 13. The Indian Embassy highlighted the spiritual connection between India and Thailand, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi praising the profound ties as nearly a million devotees gathered in Bangkok from February 23 to March 3 for homage.

During the 25-day exposition in four Thai cities, the relics were publicly venerated at a specially built mandapam at Sanam Luang Royal Palace grounds in Bangkok. Following Ubon Ratchathani, the relics will be exhibited in Krabi from March 14-18. The historic and spiritually enriching exposition will conclude on March 19 when the holy relics return to their respective homes.
