The United States has unveiled a new military aid package worth $125 million to bolster Ukraine’s defense as it continues a significant and unexpected incursion into Russian territory. National Security Council spokesman John Kirby emphasized the unwavering U.S. commitment to Ukraine, stating, “Our unwavering commitment to [Ukraine] as they continue to battle back against Russian aggression” underscores the critical nature of the support being provided. This aid package is part of the broader U.S. strategy to ensure Ukraine has the resources necessary to counter Russian advances.
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken detailed the components of the aid, which will be drawn directly from American military stockpiles. The package “includes air defense interceptors, munitions for rocket systems and artillery, multi-mission radars, and anti-tank weapons,” Blinken explained in a statement.
