On Friday, President Joe Biden suggested that if he were in Israel’s position, he would consider alternatives to striking Iranian oil fields.
He noted that Israel has yet to finalize its response to Iran, which remains a topic of discussion among Israeli leaders.
Speaking to reporters, during a White House press briefing, Joe Biden said “The Israelis have not concluded what they are going to do in terms of a strike. That’s under discussion.” Later, he said ”If I were in their shoes, I’d be thinking about other alternatives than striking oilfields.”
Later when asked whether Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s lack of diplomatic engagement was an attempt to influence the upcoming U.S. elections, Biden replied, “Whether he is trying to influence the election, I don’t know, but I am not counting on that. No administration has done more to help Israel than I have.”
