US Searching For Missing F-35 Jet after pilot Ejects Safely During ‘Mishap’

US military officials are currently in pursuit of a missing F-35 aircraft following an incident that prompted the pilot to eject on Sunday afternoon, as reported by Fox News.

In a statement posted on Facebook, Joint Base Charleston disclosed that the aircraft in question is a Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II from Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort. Fortunately, the pilot executed a safe ejection and has been transported to a nearby medical center.

Fox News reports that Joint Base Charleston is collaborating with Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort to locate the missing aircraft, with emergency response teams actively involved in the search efforts.

According to Joint Base Charleston’s Facebook statement, their search focus is presently situated to the north of JB Charleston, specifically around Lake Moultrie and Lake Marion, based on the F-35 jet’s last-known location. The public is kindly requested to cooperate with both military and civilian authorities during this ongoing effort.

Individuals possessing any information regarding the jet’s whereabouts are strongly encouraged to reach out to the JB Charleston Base Defense Operations Center at 843-963-3600.
