Violence prevails in Sudan as air strikes and artillery fire intensified across the capital city of Khartoum early on Tuesday, as reported by Reuters. Sudan has been in the midst of violence for more than a month now.
As per a witness quoted by the agency, the air strikes and explosions could be heard in the south of Khartoum. Heavy shelling has also been reported across the River Nile.
The civil war in Sudan broke out last month between the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces.
While the civil war between the army and the RSF is concentrated in Khartoum but its effect can also be felt in other parts of Sudan such as the western region of Darfur.
Since then, more than 700,000 people inside Sudan have been reportedly displaced. So far, more than 670 deaths and about 5,500 injuries have been reported, however, the actual toll is expected to be higher.
