Amid the escalating Israel-Hamas conflict, the lives of Israeli citizens continue to be severely disrupted, with many enduring the loss of their homes due to the ruthless rocket attacks launched by Hamas. Among the affected areas, Yahuda Halevi in southern Israel has seen the devastation, witnessing the destruction of residential properties and buildings.
One Israeli resident, Dima, recounted the horrifying experience when a rocket struck his home in an exclusive interview with ANI. He described the night when the rocket hit, saying, “While we were sleeping at night, a rocket was dropped, and my house was completely destroyed, causing serious injuries to us.” Dima also mentioned that his son was injured and is currently receiving medical treatment.
Similarly, Yaacov, an Israeli national from Ashkelon, shared his distressing encounter, explaining how a rocket forced them to flee their building. They found refuge with the local administration, who directed them to a hotel. Yaacov, along with his family, including his 11-year-old son and 2-year-old daughter, now resides in this hotel.
“The fear and urgency felt by Yaacov and his family mirror the widespread anxiety and turmoil that have gripped residents in the region.”
Galaia, another resident of Ashkelon, expressed a similar sentiment, describing the damage to their neighbor’s house and the need to stay in a hotel. She emphasized the urgency of the situation and implored the Prime Minister to put an end to terrorism promptly.
Galaia’s plea reflects the frustration and yearning for a resolution to the ongoing conflict, highlighting the emotional toll it has taken on individuals and families. “My children and family are here (hotel) because rockets fell on the roof of our neighbor’s house, our windowpanes were broken… for one week, we have been staying here, now we don’t know if this place is safe… we want a new place… I want to tell my Prime Minister that… finish this terrorism as soon as possible.”
These pleas reflect the frustration and yearning for a resolution to the ongoing conflict, highlighting the emotional toll it has taken on individuals and families. The constant threat of rocket attacks and the trauma of seeking refuge in unfamiliar surroundings continue to weigh heavily on their lives.
The Israel Defense Forces reported that 1,200 Israelis had lost their lives, and more than 2,700 were wounded since the commencement of the Hamas attack on Saturday. The IDF stressed their readiness to carry out missions in Gaza.
In Gaza, retaliation by Israel has resulted in nearly 1,000 casualties and 5,000 injuries, following what was termed a ‘surprise attack’ by Hamas, as reported by CNN, citing the Gaza Health Ministry. In the latest development, the Israeli Air Force conducted an attack on the Islamic University in Gaza City, which was believed to be a significant training center for Hamas engineers.
According to a statement by the Israeli Air Force, this action targeted a crucial hub of political and military influence for the terrorist organization Hamas and served as a training facility for weapon development and production. The Air Force confirmed ongoing extensive attacks in the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli Air Force Chief of Staff, Brig. Gen. Omer Tishler, emphasized their commitment to a multi-front approach, stating, “We will not concentrate on what was, we concentrate on what is happening here and now. The IDF knows how to operate in a multi-front manner as long as necessary. We don’t differentiate between day and night – that’s what war looks like.”
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu drew parallels between Hamas and ISIS, characterizing both as terrorist organizations that should be treated in a similar manner.
