To this the Prime Minister Of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina gave a befitting reply to the opposition running “Boycott Indian Products”.
Emphasizing transparency, she urged the opposition leaders to disclose how many Indian sarees their wives have and why they haven’t taken steps to dispose of them. Sheikh Hasina also criticized the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) for its previous practices, alleging that during their time in power, ministers and their spouses would purchase sarees during trips to India and sell them in Bangladesh making it a regular unofficial business.

Sheikh Hasina then moved to Indian spices and their role in Bangladesh’s kitchens. “Garam masala, onions, garlic, ginger, all spices that come (from India) should not be seen in their (BNP leaders’) homes,” she said.
