Farmers in Jail Begin Hunger Strike Over Land Rights
Farmers detained in Gautam Buddha Nagar District Jail have started a hunger strike to demand justice, according to the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM).
The SKM stated that the imprisoned Greater Noida farmers seek long-pending resolutions, including a law for 10% land allotment, addressing the Leaseback (Adadi) settlement, and implementing the 2013 Land Acquisition Act.
“These farmers were peacefully protesting when forcibly detained by authorities. Their hunger strike, though peaceful, endangers their health,” SKM added.
